Modular workers accommodation
Client: Portavadie Estates Ltd
The Portavadie Marina modular workers homes were created in response to Stewart Associates’ requirements for staff accommodation. These modular homes have allowed our client to overcome the challenge of providing quality homes that attract seasonal workers to a stunning but remote part of the UK.
We designed, manufactured and installed 10 spacious one bedroom modular homes for Portavadie Estates Ltd in just 95 days, providing a living space footprint of 300m2
Concept & Planning
The Portavadie Marina was made up of 10 x 30ft units. Having been quoted 18-24 months for traditional build; a modular building approach was chosen so that the project could be completed within the given timeframe, whilst still maintaining a high standard.
Build & Installation
Benefits of offsite construction
The units were fully constructed offsite in only 95 days, allowing the modular homes to be transported and installed quickly at this challenging location in time for summer.
As the units were designed to arrive as completed dwellings, minimal onsite works were required.
We should be considering modular as a way of enabling businesses to not only grow but actually to survive to recruit and maintain the staffing levels.
