Innovation Studios, Watermill Wharf was developed in response to Medway Council’s requirements for more enterprise space, in partnership with QED. Regenerating a run-down are of Strood, the two blocks of converted shipping container buildings are now home to 15 work units on the first floor, with 18 storage units beneath.

Using a combination of 20ft and 40ft shipping containers, the purpose-built space on the bank of the River Medway provides a creative hub for start-up and burgeoning micro-firms, largely in the digital and technology sectors.

Joining Innovation Centre Medway (ICM) to fulfil the Council’s ambitions to transform the area into a hub for entrepreneurs, the shipping container units are fully compliant with building regulations. In addition to the office units, Innovation Studios also incorporates kitchen and bathroom facilities and a secure bicycle storage area.
